Sophia High Back Chair

The Sophia High Back Chair brings upholstered seating and practical features to your office. With an upholstered seat and back, fully upholstered armrests, a tilting mechanism, and an aluminium base with castors, it combines a coordinated appearance with the ability to move around your workspace. Its high-back design makes it an option for a dedicated home office or a professional setting.

Measuring W65 × D70 × H119 cm overall, the Sophia High Back Chair gives you clear dimensions to use when planning your desk area. Whether you are furnishing a new workspace or replacing an existing chair, start by checking how these measurements work with your desk, surrounding furniture, and available floor space.

Upholstered seat and back

The upholstered seat and back create a consistent finish across the main seating surfaces. Upholstery also contributes to the chair’s appearance, making it a useful starting point when coordinating an office interior.

When choosing office seating, consider both appearance and fit. Think about where the chair will sit within the room and how it will look alongside the desk, storage units, and other furniture. The Sophia High Back Chair’s upholstered design can form part of a cohesive workspace without requiring every piece of furniture to share the same material or finish.

Fully upholstered armrests

Fully upholstered armrests continue the upholstery treatment along the sides of the chair. This detail gives the arms a coordinated appearance with the seat and back, rather than leaving them as a visually separate element.

Armrests are also worth considering when checking desk clearance. Overall chair dimensions help you assess the space required around the desk, but they do not establish whether the arms will fit underneath a particular desktop. If tucking the chair under your desk is important, confirm the armrest clearance before making your choice. This is particularly useful in compact offices where every part of the floor plan matters.

Tilting mechanism for a change of angle

The Sophia High Back Chair includes a tilting mechanism, allowing the chair to tilt as part of its seating function. This gives you another feature to consider alongside the upholstered surfaces and high-back form when comparing office chairs.

Your working setup should also allow you to change position and take breaks during the day. A chair is one part of that setup, together with your desk, screen, keyboard, and the placement of frequently used items. When evaluating any chair, consider how its available functions match the way you work and the tasks you regularly perform.

Aluminium base with castors

An aluminium base supports the chair’s design, while castors allow it to be repositioned around the workspace. This can be useful when moving the chair away from the desk, creating room to sit down, or adjusting its position within the office.

Flooring should be part of your selection process. Before use, check the castors’ suitability for your floor surface and whether additional floor protection is appropriate. It is also helpful to leave enough clear space around the chair for movement, especially where a desk sits near shelving, a wall, or a shared walkway.

Plan your workspace around the chair

With overall dimensions of 65 cm wide, 70 cm deep, and 119 cm high, the Sophia High Back Chair should be considered in relation to the whole room. Measure the intended seating area and account for the space needed to pull the chair away from the desk.

For a home office, consider nearby doors, cabinets, and storage drawers. In a shared office, allow for the surrounding circulation space as well. Planning these details before selecting furniture helps you create a layout that works for everyday use, rather than relying on the chair’s dimensions alone.
